                Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
                         


1.  Do you ship outside the US?
ANS: Generally, No.

2.  Do you ship USPS to APO/FPO addresses?
ANS: All our shipping is via UPS.  However we will make an
exception and ship USPS Priority mail to APO/FPO addresses for an additional $5.00 fee.  This
is in addition to the regular box handling charge and postage.
3.  Do you manufacture the items on your web site?
ANS: No.  We are a reseller not a manufacturer.
4.  How much will my order cost including shipping?
ANS: Since we charge the actual UPS shipping fee it is impossible to tell until the order is packed
, weighed and put into the UPS system.  We don't pad shipping fees as many mail order
companies do by arbitrarily assigning a shipping cost to each item or by giving a range of costs
based on a dollar amount ordered.  We charge a flat handling fee plus the actual UPS charges
which is based on weight and UPS zone.  You can be assured of paying the lowest possible price.
5.  Why can't the person on the  phone answer my questions or give me product
availability?
The order taker does not have access to this information.  Even the person on the information line
does not always know the answers due to the sheer volume of products carried.  For example we
carry over 45,000 hobby items and over 60,000 pet items alone.  If you have specific questions it
is always better to send us e-mail.  That way our people can research your questions and get you
the correct answers.
6.  How do I check the status of my order?
ANS: The best way is via e-mail.
7.  Can you send me a printed catalog?
ANS: Sorry.   Our entire catalog along with current prices is entirely on-line and kept up-to-date. 
This would be impossible in a printed catalog.

8.  Can you ship model rocket engines or other HAZMAT items?
ANS: No. The Hazardous Materials Charge is prohibitive and after 911 you have to be a registered HAZMAT shipper (which we are not) - and the paperwork is impossible!

9. Why don't you have pictures to go along with the products?

ANS: It is simply a matter of economics. We don't have the server space that is necessary to host pictures along with the 200,000 or so items we carry. Many manufacturers now have their own websites and pictures of their products. They also generally have catalogs with pictures of most of their products. We provide, on the corresponding page on our site, a link to their site or email address. Usually we can find a contact number for you if you send us an email.

10. Why does it take so long to get product? Why can't you ship immediately?

ANS: We carry about 20,000 of the fastest moving items in our shipping facility. If you order consists entirely of these items we normally can ship within 48 hours. We have chosen to carry over 200,000 items from hundreds of manufactures, big and small and thus must rely on a multiple warehouse system to fill these orders. Many of these warehouses accept a weekly picking order from us and deliver once a week on a fairly rigid schedule thus the reason for a week or two delays. On the other hand if we carried a limited number of items like most companies do we could have pictures and ship quickly but then the item you want would probably not be carried by us.

11. Is everything shown on your site in stock?

ANS: No. We list the items that are in current production but since the majority comes from overseas many are unavailable especially in the hobby lines. If you have a particular question about a product please email us for availability at info@leisure-time.com

12. Is the site secure for me to list my credit card?

ANS: Yes and No. The web site is not secure as there is no reason for it to be, however the page that you list the credit card information is. You will see that when you get to the credit card information page a yellow padlock appears on the bottom taskbar of most browsers and the URL address on the top address line changes to https:// the 's' denoting secure. This page is a Verisign encrypted secure page and is safe to list your personal information.

13. Can you ‘drop ship’ from one of your warehouses or suppliers?

ANS: No. Manufacturers and warehouses are generally not set up to ship directly to the customer. Most orders consist of items that we have here plus those that come from several warehouses. We consolidate the shipment and send it to you.

14. Do you backorder items that are out of stock?

ANS: Generally no as most of the items we carry (especially Hobby) are made overseas and delivery is not always as scheduled. Waits of several months are often incurred.

15. What is the message I see after I place an order that includes my personal information and credit card data?

ANS: This is a bounce back of the information you sent to our secure server so that you can see exactly what you submitted. You will notice the URL is https:// which indicates you are still on the secure server. You will receive a separate confirmation from us within a couple of  business days which will include an approximate shipping date.
